Newly assembled and ready to add plants and compost/dirt mixture, but I don’t know what kind of bottom to put in it if a bottom at all. Does the water have to drain out completely? Plastic, no plastic? Will the wood rot?

I have Since learned that giant redwoods can grow 1 to 2 feet tall after like there first 5 or 6 years… and coastal redwoods can actually grow like 3 to 6 feet a year in the right zone my area is the right growth zone for both
