I’m getting married in April 2008 and we need ideas of fun close-by places within driving distance since we can’t travel too far because of the cost of the wedding.

ok so i want to go to california, but my parents wont allow me because they think that there is nothing to do because i usually only go to the east coast, but i want to go to the west coast too. so what are the best reasons to visit california as a vacation and what are the best places to go there?
