tenants’ rights , what should i do?
I’ve been in this apartment a couple of months ago, since the first week I discovered the oven doesn’t work. a technician came to fix then after another month the oven didn’t work again. I even started to smell gas so I cut off a general switch.
I called the property manager and they told me that the owner will take a look at the oven and then see if they either fix it or replace it ( the appliances are old)
I had to wait a whole week for the owners to come back from a vacation, then when they came tomy house they couldn’t figure out why there’s no gas.
till now the oven and stove don’ work and this situation lasted for more than a week.
What should I do as tenant should I just keep calling do we have right at all and after landlord /properly management where should we go
Ilive in Northern California

Do you have a written lease?
Otherwise it is a constructive eviction based on NYS law.
