Vacation in Baja California Norte?
I want to vacation in Baja California Norte at the end of March. What city is nice, safe, and kid-friendly? And if you have any recommendations on hotels, condos or rental housing, please share. Thanks!

I would highly reccomend Rosarito Beach, it’s VERY tourist safe/friendly. Hotel rates depend a lot on when you are going, my favorite hotel is a little rustic place on the beach called Los Pelicanos.

Check out http://www.rosarito.org for some event listings and other links you will find very helpful. They have hotel links; and if you have a family the best place is http://www.Bajak28.com for nice condos, low-rise, on the beach, lush landscape, etc. Great for families.
In addition to what has been said, also consider visiting the Baja wine country, Valle de Guadalupe. Very interesting wines from old vine grapes.
If you are driving and want an AAA type coverage, look at the Explorer Card: http://www.serenafullassistance.com/
Hope you have a great time in Baja! I live here and life is good!

First, if you are drving over the border, be sure to obtain Mexican Auto Insurance. YOu can purchase on line (BajaBound.com) or stop on your way at the border. Be sure to have your car registration with you. Additionally, I would recommend no night driving.
Right now, in that it doesn’t sound like you are familiar with Mexico, I would not stop in Tijuana.
Spend a day or two in Rosarito Beach…Stay at the Rosarito Beach HOtel. It’s lovely and historic.
The, drive south to Ensenada….there are many hotels there that are very nice and right on the main street.
Then…head south about 15 miles to the Punta Banda area and go to La Bufadora to see the blow hole, the beautiful bay and have a great meal at La Bufadora Restaurant.
Enjoy! Marcy
