Want to go to seattle, wa best price?
We are planning to go vacation but with gas prices I want to go some place close. We are think seattle but have want some suggestions from locals. What go place to go in seattle. Also does anyone know of good website for cheap airfares. We are considering driving up to seattle from northern california. If we do we might stay over night in portland. Any tips on portland. We would be take our own car instead of renting one. So we want to split half and half time so we don’t over heat the car and drive 12 hours straight. We are plan to go june 11 to june 17 so not many days avilable want to make use of the short vacation time.

For cheap air fares go to http://www.kayak.com.
You put in your dates and to/from information, it searches hundreds of airlines, including some that expedia and those types don’t index.
I’ve had great luck with it.
Tripadvisor.com has users rate different attractions.

If you are into music history EMP (Experience Music Project) near the space needle is pretty cool. They added a sci-fi wing also. Which I’m told houses Captain James T Kirk’s chair from the original set of Star Treck.

The space needle itself is pretty cool too.
You can eat at the top which slowly revolves giving you a full view of the surrounding area. I’m not sure what the current prices are to eat there are though.

Pike place market is also a good place to go. http://www.pikeplacemarket.org
There is an underground tour of Seattle as well

Hope you have a good trip.
Here is my canned Seattle suggestions:
Start with the stadiums. Quest Field and Safeco. They are right next to each other. Directly north (walk here) is Pioneer square. It is the old historical part of Seattle with original buildings and such. This is a good place to get something to eat or drink. Further north is downtown. You don’t really need to see this unless you like shopping and seeing 4 Starbucks on one block. To the west is the waterfront. Definitely see this. There is a cool Aquarium, the Ye Old Curiosity Shop (must see), and some cool sites. Right by here is Pike Place Market, which is another must see. All of this can be done by walking, but it isn’t right next to each other.
the other area is the Seattle Center. This contains the Space Needle, Experience Music Project, Pacific Science Center (great for kids), and other attractions. This is a few miles north of downtown
