Can I use redwood bark chips as ground cover in my outdoor rabbit pen?
We’re building a pen for 2 rabbits that will be about 100 square feet. Grass is not a good option. Are bark chips safe? If not, any suggestions on what to use as ground cover? All responses much appreciated.

Yes it is, and it smells really good! Why isn’t the grass a good idea?

I don’t think so, because rabbits’ feet are really sensitive, and if the bark is rough it might not like it. If i were you,i would go for something that is not a s rough and is
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Not only are rabbit’s feet sensitive, so is their sense of smell. cedar, redwood, any type of wood chip can be fatal to rabbits. I use Yesterday’s news litter, it’s recylcled newspaper. littertrain your rabbits and throw down an old blanket, all will be well.
