Where to go?
I have not had a vacation in a really long time. I work very hard, and currently I am becoming extremelly stressed out with my surroundings. I have a weeks worth of paid vacation, and in October I will have plenty of free time. The problem… I can’t really afford to go anywhere like Hawaii, or on a Carribean Cruise (which I would love to do). I live in Northern California… any ideas of places that I can travel nearby that are fairly reasonable about pricing and will be relaxing?

if you have a passport try going overseas. try thailand, it is very inexpensive once you get there and would be very relaxing as it is not as commercialized as hawaii or the caribbean cruises

I say go too Coronado island it is a beautiful place and very relaxing. It is in Southern California. I would not suggest staying on the island as it will be expensive. Stay off the island and just go over there to shop and eat and hang out on the beach. I hope this helped and you find a relaxing place.

Glacier National Park- My all time favorite vacation spot… absolutely breathtaking. You can’t help but feel relaxed there! The only expense is gasoline to get there, and a pillow to lay your head on (tenting it would be a little chilly in Oct).

If you can afford it and don’t mind the drive … head north to Vancouver, BC! It is so gorgeous up here!!!! Take the ferry or a bus tour to Victoria! You will never regret it! Do be prepared for some rain … it’s unpredictable in October.

You are not very far from Stanley, Idaho. It’s just outside of Boise. Great place to get into the mountain atmosphere read some good books sit by the fire and enjoy the wildlife. Lots of log cabin type motels. I think anyone would enjoy it. Dress warm.

Check out Miranda gardens resort affordable and right in the redwoods!
How close are you to Lake Tahoe? You could stay on the north shore and enjoy the aspens turning color and the beauty of the lake. Take a book and a blanket and sit on the beach and relax. Or go to south shore and gamble and shop at the outlet mall. If it was my vacation, I would stay in Incline Village or over by Kings Beach.
Have a relaxing time wherever you end up going!
