What do you think of Humboldt State?
I’m starting as a freshman this fall and I’m feeling anxious about the choice I made to attend. What do you think of Humboldt and the area. I’m from LA, and although I do love being in the outdoors and camping etc, it’s still different from the outdoors I’m used to.

I’m going on my second year at HSU and I love it. I’m originally from Bakersfield, so the change from there to up here was quite huge. It is a different outdoors, but it is a different place altogether. At first you might be in for a shock, maybe unsure of what to do and how to get things accomplished, but in the end you’ll feel right at home. Personally, I love it up here. Humboldt holds a nice and fairly constant temperature, only problem is the rain. Other than that, I love the mountains, forest, ocean, and well, Humboldt gives you all of those things. Plus the professor’s here are some of the most personal people you will ever meet. Students range drastically as I’m sure you’ve at least been up here to tour campus. I’m in one of the fraternities on campus and it has been great. Definitely one of the best choices I have made and well, it is really opening doors for me to go to grad school on the east coast. I’m sure you’ll love it up here and it is always easier if you know someone that it is up here or going to be attending with you.
