California Tips in March?
March 22 and the week following is my honeymoon. We’re thinking about visiting a redwood forest in California. We’re from Nebraska. Where are some good places to visit? Where are some good places NEAR a redwood forest (like 2-4 hours)? Which forest would you suggest? We don’t have a ton of money, so keep that in mind. First and only trip to California, what is a must-see?

Yosemite has Redwoods.San Francisco is within 4 or 5 hours .You won’t go swimming but the weather will be comfortable along the coast.Just South of San Francisco is gorgeous and doesn’t look at all like Nebraska.

You do know California is A LOT more expensive than nebraska as far as hotel/food…so plan accordingly. I reccomend Big Basin State Park, and Henry Cowell State Park, they are a comfortable day trip from the bay area, or can be incorporated into their own trip with a stay in Santa Cruz.
Muir Woods National Forest has awesome old growth redwoods, and will be substantially cheaper than Yosemite.
It is a short drive from San Francisco.
