What are some nice vacation spots in California?
Preferably near Los Angeles, cheap, and good for the family?

I had a brilliant vacation when I stopped at this villa in Bulgaria (website in resource box), it’s got everything, all modern appliances, a collosal garden with all sorts of fruit trees and a wonderful swimming pool. If you’ve never visited Bulgaria before it’s an exellent place with panoramic mountains, rivers and streams and a coast with breathtaking beaches and resorts. And best of all it’s cheap!!! Pint of beer – £0.50 – €0.65 – $1.00, pack of cigarettes £1.00 – 130 euro cents – $2, a three-course meal in a restaurant with wine etc, less than 5 UK pounds – €6.50 – $10. The villa is in the country side but only a 20 minute drive from the nearest resort. Check out the villa’s website in the box below.

Someone said Disneyland, which is an obvious choice. Another would be Legoland or perhaps go down to San Diego which has a ton of stuff to entertain the whole family. If you are open to going a little farther north I might suggest Santa Cruz which also has lovely beaches and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk…remember the movie with the teenage vampires (Bad Boys I think) with Keifer Sutherland when he was young, well that was Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

There aren’t any left in that end of California. They’ve all been made into tourist traps.

Garden Grove., Anaheim,
Try the Homewood Suites by Hilton, cooked breakfast is included and M-Thursday social hour and snacks, of a family of four, this can save $80.00 a night.
Embassy suites in anahiem garden grove would be a great choice to for a nice breakfast and social hour.

Santa Barbara is beautiful and fun, as well as Ojai, if you’re looking for something less touristy.
Closer to LA, there is Disneyland which is a perfect fun place for the family!

old town, san diego, san diego zoo, lego land if ur under 12 , honestly if ur in Souther Cal, i’d just go to the beach, i wasnt as impressed with southern cal as i was with northern, just seemed like more stuff going on in northern, southern was more laid back
San Diego is the perfect place for a family vacation. There are lots of things to do and the weather is great. You wouldn’t have to spend a lot of money traveling since it’s just a 2 hours drive or so from Los Angeles.
There are great places to hike. You can also bike along the coast. Visit Sea World, the zoo, Lego Land, the Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park, the beaches and so much more.
