why is it so hard to find a home for rent in humboldt area?

my boyfriend and i have been looking to rent a good size house close to Aracata,It seems pretty difficult to find anything though,anyone has any leads please help.

I am not from that area, but what I may suggest is checking the local papers in that area, or call a local Real Estate office in the area, they sometimes have their own rentals available.
