I visited the Bay Area in the summer of 2002 and had a spectacular time! I was able to tour San Francisco, San Jose, Fremont, Oakland, and Monterrey Bay. The area is gorgeous. I was fortunate in that my aunt and uncle who reside there own a sailboat. So I was able to see the sights from both land and water. California is an amazing state. I’ve also been able to visit Los Angeles and San Diego. There is so much to see and do in Cali. I think you’ll have a wonderful time. Keep in mind one thing, though. Even in the summertime the Bay can be chilly. Temps can jump from 80s to 60s quickly. So make sure to pack shorts, pants, and a jacket.
