What is there to do in California?
I plan on seeing the redwoods, Lake Tahoe…
What else would you recommend?
Are there any shows being taped I could attend?
Please give me some ideas!

Where-ever you go and no matter what you do you will be stumbling over people (mostly rude) and often falling over them. Be prepared!

If you’re going out to Tahoe, you could stop by Reno, about 40 minutes north/northeast.
In SF proper, there’s Fisherman’s Wharf – major tourist trap. There’s Alcatraz (be sure to spend extra for the audio tour if you go.) If you don’t have friends in the area, sign up for a city tour – they’ll hit all the touristy things, like the Golden Gate and Bay bridges, parks, twin peaks, Fisherman’s Wharf, etc.
Muir Woods is the nearest park for the redwoods. If you go in the morning/early afternoon, you can get a tour by a ranger – recommended.
Down south, there’s the Mystery Spot, Carmel, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz Boardwalk (a carnival/amusement park/beach area), the17mile drive in Monterey, and Monterey Aquarium.
Further north, there’s Napa, if you’re into wines. There are tour buses that go up to Napa, and go around to some of the wineries – much preferable to driving around by yourself…
We managed to cram all of that – except that Napa trip – into a single week of sightseeing for my sister when she visited us recently. We were all wiped out at the end of the trip, but it was worth it!

Depending on which part of California you go to there is a hell of a lot to do.
Drive the PCH
San Diego – Scuba Diving, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Sea Food go wander around the tide pools at low tide.
Walk Huntington Beach and Visit the Pierside Gallery, go see my cousins artwork – Brian Davis : http://www.piersidegallery.com/artists/davis/
Stop at Eric Ericsons for Sea Food and have the Clam Bake.
LA – There are many studios to visit, Disney Land, Knotts Berry Farm the Winchester Mansion (Anaheim), Sea Food sitting in endless traffic jams.
San Francisco – Sea Food , Pizza, Micro Brews. The golden Gate, Golden Gate Park, Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, China town, ride a trolley or just walk around – what a wonderful city.
The Red Wood Forrest – absolutely a must – 90% of the trees have already been logged. There are so few left.
