Where should I go on vacation in California: Palm Springs or San Diego?
Going in early December from Boston. Why should I go to which ever one you chose?

San Diego, as there is just more to do.
Palm Springs is merely hot (as in temperature)
San Diego is hot (as in things to do)

MY suggestion (since I was stationed in California while serving in the Military) .. is to SAVE your funds and find someplace else to vacation … (because — in reality — I did NOT find anything affordable to do anywhere there) …
But … if you still go — I’d go to SanDiego Zoo and Wild Animal Park — they were the most affordable choices (and that is relative), and can be a fun place to visit. ANYTHING else is just way, way too EXPENSIVE for sure.
I’ve been to and enjoyed both places. San Diego has the world-renowned San Diego Zoo, beaches and normal city activities. Palm Springs is in the desert and has hot, dry weather all-year round, which is great in the winter. There’s also a desert zoo, a tramway, and golf courses all over the place in Palm Springs. Both are beautiful and have great shopping areas.
Overall, I would go to Palm Springs to relax or San Diego to see the sights and explore the city.
