What’s the best place to go in california for a surf vacation?
My friends have never surfed before, I have a couple of times (not that that’s important, were all beginners). We were looking to go to California in April. Whats the best place to go? And would it be better to attend a week-long surf camp, or rent a couple rooms and just go have fun?
Thanks for taking the time

Doheney State Beach Park. Its in Dana Point, near the laguna niguel area. The jetty kills the waves making them very slow and easy to learn on. Check out youtube.com and search"surfing doheney" and you will see what its like

I suggest San Clemente – You can surf at the pier or head down to San Onofre. Make sure you take some lessons to ensure you are not a hazard to others.

Try Mondo’s, I just went there in October and it is very small. Perfect for beginners, not scary at all but fun because you can get up on the board.

if ur going down to the san diego area, pacific beach and la jolla shores both have little surf camps and beginner sessions, where u rent a board and they take you out or you can just ren the boards. if you go to la jolla shores don’t venture down by the pier.
