Has anyone ever cut down a tree 300 feet tall?
Just curious if any lumbermen have cut down any fir trees or Redwoods as high as 300 feet.

im not a lumber man or logger or anything but i had a huge tree in my back yard that was growing over my house which gave me a scare during the winter that it would fall directly on me in the middle of the night, so i removed it. Sadly you have to be a good climber and have lots of rope. The best way to safely remove a tree of this height would be to tie the rope to the branches and then begin with removing little limbs and then slowly lowering them to the ground. As soon as all the limbs are gone you would then begin on the main stalk of the tree. Once again tieing the rope to each section you plan on removing so it wouldn’t come crashing down on your house, friend, dog or cat. Once the entire tree is removed you would want to remove the stump. You can rent a stump grinder for about $70-100 a day. Once all this is done you wouldn’t even know the tree was there. You can even grind the tree up into mulch and use it around the house so its not wasting the tree.
