We are 25 and want to make new friends….away from the city.

Dang, how about Washington instead?
Anyway, the beach is always an easy place to meet new people.
My (former) friend and I actually met three girls at a beach, in Oregon. I’m a shy guy so that kinda proves that is the setting for meeting people.

it all depends on what you enjoy! if you like camping and night life i suggest Scott’s Flat lake just outside of Nevada City. it’s quiet and relaxing ( go during the week it’s cheaper) and then catch a cab into Nevada City and go to Cooper’s bar/ nightclub. Cooper’s often has live bands, lots of friendly local folks that enjoy showing out of town girls a good time out about town.
for daytime fun there are lots of great stores to buy souvenirs, clothes, and really great local markets to get fresh food to supply your ice chests.
if you insist on creature comforts there are several hotels/ motels in nearby Grass Valley along with few great restaurants you can choose from!

Projection machines rule!! So glad you are using your amizang talent Dorian. It’s going to look great. I’d have you come paint my walls but that octopus is the size of my house. ;(

I also noticed this about myslef. If I didn’t have a story, I didn’t even ask questions, I just listened and gave acknowledging grunts like oh uhhuh wow . Then I noticed I didn’t have friends =) What was your ah ha! Moment that allowed you to see this perspective?
The wine country fits the bill:
It’s in Northern California and there are tons of fun-loving people there to meet. To top it off, it’s in the country.
There’s a link below for a road trip through California Wine Country if you’re interested.
Also, Mendicino is really nice and artsy and most people there are friendly (quieter, though).
