Which is the fastest way to drive from Santa Cruz to Portola Redwoods State Park during evening rush hour?
Driving from Santa Cruz to Portola Redwoods State Park on a Wed evening during rush hour traffic. I think Hwy 17 is pretty bad during this time?
What about Hwy 1?
Thanks.

1 usually isn’t crowded at rush hour. I guess you could go all the way to San Gregorio and go east on 84; however, I’m not sure how to get to PR from 84.
You should allow yourself at least 1 1/2 hours, as the roads are very winding.
