Where is the best spot in california to vacation as far as beaches are concerned.?

Carlsbad in S. Ca., approx. 38 miles North West of downtown San Diego. First rate motels close to beach in all price ranges, Medium to super pricey, gorgeous timeshares, public
campground above beach, not far from town, you can walk miles on the beach when the tide is out. Del Mar, where the surf meets the turf is just afew miles south of Carlsbad. I,ll be there in Aug. See ya maybe.

There are many places along the California coast to sit on the beach, too many to mention, I think there is some 700 miles of beach to California. Favorites would probably be San Diego due to the warmer weather, Another is Santa Cruz, Not only is there nice beaches there but also The "Boardwalk" amusement park right there on the beach.
Another nice place is Monterey, though it is usually foggy and too cold to lie on the beach, the community & shops are very interesting and only a day trip from Santa Cruz.
