need help picking men's wear!?
http://taltybaptistchurch.org/events/list/?outlook-ical=1 ok, so i’m getting married at the end of september, with a moderately small ceremony (30 people) at an Inn in new hampshire…
we’re trying to keep it casual, but still classy and english-garden like…I’m wearing a flowey-sparkley ivory floorlength wedding dress; brides maids have a flowey-knee length wine colored sleavless dress, the groom is wearing black dresspants, a white european collar shirt and a handmade huntergreen/ivory/black silk vest. I had ties made for the groomsmen with the bridesmaid dress material…my question is…what should the groomsmen wear? here are the options I’m thinking of
1) black dress pants, white shirt unbuttoned at the top
2) suit w/ jacket, with no tie, white shirt unbuttoned at the top
3) black dress pants, no jacket, tie
keep in mind they’re going to have a single pink-ish rose boutonniere
what do you think? any other ideas? Thanks!

well ask him what he likes but don’t tell him that your buying anything, and then buy whatever helikes. or you could just look at the clothes he wears now and get something similar. men have different tastes.

I think the groomsmen should be dressed a tad less formal than groom. If the groom isn’t wearing a jacket, I don’t think the groomsmen should, either. I also think that unbuttoned collars would be a bit to casual. I like #3, black dress pants, no jacket, with tie. Have them wear white shirts, too. Hope your wedding is beautiful!

I would say number 2. or a pair of slacks and a sport coat with top button on shirt undone. As a side note linen suits are casual and classy and you can rent them from mens warehouse if you were to do number two I would recommend them.

Hi,
I think option 3 would be best…I think option 1 might be too casual given what your fiance is wearing (vest)…and option 2 might be too "formal" for what your fiance is wearing. Since he is not wearing a jacket…I don’t think the groomsmen should.

number 2 BUT remember if you are wearing IVROY then you might want them to wear IVROY otherwise you might look dirty …
Hi. Definitely go with #2 if the guys are having a boutonniere. You could go with any of the options if there is no boutonniere.
Have you even seen a picture of a white dress shirt with a boutonniere on it? Really, it’s not a pretty site. It looks really odd and out of place.
Hmmm….if you go with #2, then the groomsmen will be a little more dressed up than the groom. For consistency, you may also want to have your groom in a suit jacket
(at least for the ceremony). Again, it looks better with a boutonniere.
