Is it expensive to live in Arcata – Humboldt California?

(As of the year 2000) The median income for a household in the county was $31,226, and the median income for a family was $39,370.
If that’s the average income, it doesn’t seem like housing would be terribly expensive.
Are you looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment? I live with my boyfriend in a decent size 2 br/1 ba that is 1/2 a mile from HSU and rent is only $700. You can find lower priced 1 and 2 br places but some of these places aren’t very good.
A good place to look would be Cricklewood Apartments – a 1 br is about $525 and a 2 br is $625 – they are some of the newest apartments in town and are really nice – free gym too!
Whatever you do, STAY AWAY FROM STROMBECK PROPERTY MANAGEMENT!!!!!
