how to clean mildew off a redwood deck?
http://fabcare.com/post-treatment/ My redwood decks is shaded in some areas and turns black. I want to clean it now that winter is over. What is the best way to get rid of the mildew. Last year we sanded the whole deck and restained it. Don’t want to do that again. Will a mixture of bleach and water do the trick?

Last summer some friends had me clean the mildew/algae of their deck.
Bleach works, but it requires a lot of scrubbing
If you re-stained last year, the wood should be well protected. Try going to the hardware store and looking for algae removing detergent. This will require some scrubbing too, but might be friendlier on the environment.
