Florida the ' Sunshine State' ? reconsider that?
Sīra Yes when the sun comes out it the weather can be hell, but How is Florida called the sunshine state when Its the lightning capital of the world and humid. Not to mention, it would be shining for a little in the summer days and then it starts to rain with thunder and lightning. The weather messed up my vacation there. I’m from Cali, and i’m not just saying this because i’m from there but if anything california should be called the sunshine state. Its not always sunny, but still. Los angeles ,san diego weather is great. So is Northern California, but not all the time. i’d say Most of the time. Maybe because im not used to florida, but their weather is HORRIBLE. i’m sorry to the people that do like florida’s weather. I was just amazed when i heard Florida was called the sunshine state. Do you think Florida should be called the sunshine state? I mean i cant change it or do anything about there nickname but i just was wowed.

……the name "Sunshie" is fitting for the state.The region does have it’s share of thunderstorms however there is more sunshine in the state than cloudy rainy days.
It’s marketing. If they called it Giant Bug State or Land of Horrible Weather, no one would go. After all, New Jersey isn’t Toxic Dump State, it’s the Garden State.
