Cheap hotel in New York City (near MSG)?

I’m struggling to find a hotel that isn’t something like 0, and all of the cheaper ones (the Colonial House Inn, for example) seem to be booked full. Does anyone here have any suggestions??? The closer to the Garden, the better.

the pennsylvania, right across the street from the garden (but you get what you pay for, it is disgusting.) there is a small holiday inn express a few blocks away, much nicer not sure the price.

Check into the chain motel/hotels such as Best Western, Holiday Inn, Travelodge, etc.
