Can I sue my employer for reckless endangerment and privacy violation?
Cabrobó Can I sue my previous employer? I worked for The Hilton Garden Inn. My bosses questioned me about a fellow employee selling drugs on company property to company employees. I told my Boss and his boss what I knew and had seen.After meeting with my bosses,they proceeded to tell the employee what I had saidand he has continued harassing me and damaging my property and he still works for the company. Can I sue my company for this? I just stopped working for them 3 weeks ago.. any info is helpful thanks.

if you have proof you can file a criminal charge against the person

the company has no control or what that person does on his or her own time.
what you do is call the police and then file for a restraining order in court.

You seem to be asking if an employer has some obligation by law to keep what you say secret. There is no such worldwide law. None in any state that I know of, either.
Hmmmm…if the employee had attacked you, you could have sued them for negligence. You would have to convince the jury he wouldn’t have beaten you up if you hadn’t told them. You could sue them for the value of the property that was destroyed, but unless it was expensive it wouldn’t be worth it.
I’d have been tempted to report the employee to the cops. You could also mention to the national chain that this franchise knew that this employee was selling drugs. That would risk you not getting a good reference.
