CSUs???Humboldt vs. the others?
im a senior in hs and just starting the college app process.
i live in the SF Bay Area and im only considering CSUs .
My first choice, for now, is Humboldt State.
i was wondering if anyone knows anything about it or what you think? im majoring in nursing (pre-nursing)
the other CSUs im considering are:
Chico
San Jose
Sacramento
Fullerton
Fresno
San Marcos
although im not too crazy about them, its nice to have options.
any opinions on those schools?
thanks in advance
oh, and CSULA.

CSULB (long beach) has the best nursing program out of the CSU’s. (not on your list, but it should be 🙂 )

CSU base admissions on a cotmbnaiion of GPA and SAT. ECs mean nothing unless you are being offered a athletic scholarship. Recommendations are not considered. To get into a CSU school you need to at least meet their eligibility index of 2900. You need to take your grades from 10th and 11th grades (only a-g classes) multiply the GPA by 800 and add your Reading and Math SAT scores. Chico is an impacted school so if you do not live in the local area expect that you will need to be in the 3200 to 3500 range to get in. The schools that are the easiest to get into would be the one in your local area and the ones that are not impacted.
I live in the bay area too, and I LOVE Humboldt. I know for a fact that San Jose state is limiting enrollment like A LOT because of the financial crisis. what about SF state? I am avoiding SJS like that plague, humboldt is the best one, I would try for that. I hear you can go to admissions day in october and find out then and there if you are accepted, go on the website humboldt.edu
Plus HSU is a great science school.
