Other than cedar or redwood…what is a good, yet inexpensive wood for an outdoor potting bench?
I saw a potting bench online that I really liked so I decided to make a version of it. I know nothing about wood. I’d like use a wood that isn’t treated, ages nicely, can handle being outdoors in freezing weather (Illinois) and won’t rot. I also would like to do this as inexpensive as possible. Suggestions?

cypress is another good wood that can be left out doors untreated.
