vegans: what do you eat when you go to these (if any) of these places? (list of restaurants inside)?
k so can probably ask and figure out vegan things to eat at these places, but i was just curious if you had eaten at these places and if you know already what to get thats vegan
and i usually cook stuff myself but sometimes i go out with my family and friends and if there isnt much of a choice, im fine with eating before hand and just having a green salad at the place
olive garden
red robin
chilis sonic
apple bees
pie pizza
mimis cafe
noodles & co
pei wei
the training table
village inn
dee’s
k i know that a lot of these places arent good for vegan food at all lol but if youve been to any of them and know in advance what to get thats vegan.. that would be sweet
lol sorry, chilis and sonic were supposed to be seperate
dear i-D.. tons of animals get along just fine without consuming meat. you dont need meat to get sufficient amounts of protein, fatty acids, ect. please do your research before you make ignorant comments to people who are fully aware of what they are consuming.. it irritates me how smart ass people try to tell vegans that what they are doing is unhealthy.. dont you think that vegans out of anyone else would be more aware of what they are putting in their bodies? and yes, its possible to be unhealthy and vegan, but its also possible to be an unhealthy omnivor.. just like its possible to be healthy and vegan and the same for omnivors.
do you seriously think that i havent heard anyone tell me that veganism is unhealthy before? do you think that by reading your comment i’ll go… omg! he’s right. ill completely change my lifestyle right away.. sorry, but no.
and why do you even care about me? you dont have the decency to care about those animals you eat, why care about a fellow human
sorry i got on a rant there.. but you opened the flood doors my friend

Tell you what, stop being a vegan, it is actually an unhealthy lifestyle. You need complete proteins in your system from animals, just go with the no red- meat diet, like me.

olive garden .. pasta. marinara and pasta.
apple bees — they have marinara sauce and spaghetti. they have alfredo meals but i asked about marinara and they had it.
pie pizza – probably doesn’t have vegan dough.
check their menus online.
and chek pie pizza to see the ingredients in their dough.

I’m not vegan (only vegetarian) and I haven’t eaten at any of these places but I had to give you kudos for your rant.

I’m vegan, do not eat at any of the above places but I looked at the answers as we do have an Applebee’s and also a Sonic and Olive Garden near.
Thanks for your rant, by the way. I hate when people say veganism is unhealthy. Really? REALLY?? But your parents were always yelling at you to eat your vegetables for a reason!!

Hey, I’m in Australia and am a vegan and (un)fortunately we don’t have these places.
I just had to say good on you for your little rant but it was just that a rant and also talking to another user which breaks the Community Guidelines so now he has reason to delete your question, anyone does.
So, just be aware of that but regardless you kicked ass!

most of those restaurants make great Caesar salads, just ask for no cheese.

I haven’t heard of most of those places listed, but Olive Garden has the best salads! My friend and I used to each get one of their giant bowls of salad and just feast away!

I don’t waste my money at these corporate chain restaurants. They’re all horrible.

You can just tell them to make it vegan. Just tell the waitress to leave out the meat and use a sauce that doesn’t have milk. It usually isn’t obvious, so you have to ask questions and give instructions. Don’t try to guess.

The only places I’ve heard of or been to that you mentioned are Olive Garden, Chilis, Sonic, and Applebees. The rest must be regional. I haven’t been to Olive Garden in ages, so I have no idea. I’m sure there are much better local/independent Italian places near you and they’re usually more accommodating too. Chili’s has a black bean burger that is vegan, and it’s really good too. I’ve only been to Sonic as a pre-schooler living in Texas, and now only when visiting relatives in the south, so I can’t really help you there. Applebees has a chicken/veggie/noodle dish with some kind of orangey sauce. Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve been there, so I can’t remember what it’s called exactly. Just ask for it without the chicken and with extra veggies. You can also get a Caesar salad & just ask for different dressing & no cheese, etc. (Any restaurant will usually have crappy salads, but Iceberg lettuce sucks.) Applebees also has cocktails (but they’re kinda weak), so even if your meal sucks, you can still enjoy yourself more. 🙂

Half of these I’ve never been to and will likely never go to (unless someone else is paying).
The other half, I’ve never heard of.
I try and eat out as little as possible simply because I do not trust most restaurants. I do not go into the kitchen, and make sure my food wasn’t handled in the same pans that meat/ dairy was.
I especially won’t go to Olive Garden. There salad dressing has eggs and cheese in it. They do not offer an alternative there either.
As for Chili’s and Applebees; I get tossed salads with Balsamic Vinegar from there. I eat before I go, just so I can enjoy the company.
More or less what I don’t eat, and why. I apologize if it’s the opposite to what you needed.
And, my two cents about the Vegan’s being unhealthy. Ever heard of quinoa, whole grains, and soy? Quinoa is a COMPLETE protein, whole grains offer plenty of nutrition, and soy is the only plant based foods providing all eight essential amino acids. Get your facts straight before you come in and judge our choices.
