Pregnant kitten , Stupid Vet . what will i do.?
ok so , i have two 6 month of kittens . and i think one of them is pregnant.
I have them booked to get spayed tomorrow because the vet wouldnt spay them before 6 months .
I really dont want my kitten to be pregnant.
she has gain alot of weight and her nipples were pink and ahave now turned white .
she was never affectionate towards me just my sister , any time i went near her she growled at me,(i dont know why ) and all of a sudden the past 2 weeks she always wants to be around me and purrs non stopp.
she never normaly cries when she is put in the garden . but she jus sits at the door looking to get in again and crys.
she always seems to be laying down or sleeping . she licks her nipples and bum constantly .
she woddles too.
she eats far more than any off my cats . and she hardly uses the litter tray but goes outside it.
Her blood pressure is very high
my other other kitten seems so much playful
I have 2 other cats a male and female 1 year old . both have been done at 6 months .
they never acted like this
Could it be worms or a tumor,
or Something
Im taking her to the vet tomorrow and if it is kittens she’s getting them removed . because she is wayy too young .

First, I would highly suggest finding a new vet. Cats I think are worse then rabbits. It seems like they can get pregnant just from breathing. Cats can actually get spayed/neutered when they are 2lbs or more. Mine were done at around 12 weeks old. If she has been outside, then yes, she very well could be pregnant. Cats go into eat earlier then dogs, so 6 months old is an age where she could get pregnant, because more then likely she has already had her first heat.
If she is pregnant, you may want to consider a spay/abort, to prevent another litter or unwanted kittens. Thank you for getting your animals fixed, but in the future, make sure you keep any unaltered pets indoors to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.

I’m not sure what your question is, but how do you know your kitten has high blood pressure?

Well, it is rare for a kitten too get pregnant before 6 months. And most vets won’t spay until she is 6 months. But it sounds like she might be. You are doing the right thing by bringing her in and terminating the pregnancy. There are too many cats out there looking for homes, and she really is too young to be having kittens without complications. And your vet should ahve told you to keep the kittens inside before they are fixed for this very reason.

When the vet told you to wait until they are 6 months old and you didn’t like that why wouldn’t you consult with another vet. There is a good chance she is pregnant, why would you let them outside before getting spayed? If she never new what outside was she wouldn’t be Begging to go out. Also she could just be fat. DO NOT leave the food out all day for the cat to eat, feed her only twice a day.

She -could- be pregnant, but it could be something worse. Fortunately, they are already scheduled to go to the vet tomorrow, so you will have them looked over! Write down all of your concerns and bring them up with your vet when you go, as well as her recent symptoms and changes in behavior. It will help a great deal when it comes to diagnosing your kitty and might save her life =)
I also agree with the "finding a new vet" idea. Many vets who do not spay or neuter before the age of six months do so because the brand of anesthetic they use is the less safe variety, and they risk killing their patients if they get them fixed earlier. They also tend to charge more though they use cheaper equipment (can you say scam?) Best of luck with getting your kitten spayed and finding a new vet!

Is there another vet you could go to ? The one who told you it would be rare for a kitten to get pregnant doesn’t seem to know much about cats. They can get pregnant from roughly around 5 months old. She does sound quite a way pregnant, but she can still be spayed. It’s a bit more of a complicated operation but she really is too young to have to give birth.
Try to see a different vet when you take her in tomorrow.I hope she’s OK.
Yes, stupid stupid vet! Kittens can come into heat as early as 4 months, and while that’s rare certainly many of them have already come into heat by the time they are 6 months old. She is most likely pregnant, rather than it being something deadly like a tumor.
And yes, she can surely be spayed tomorrow, pregnant or not. At her young age the risk of complications to her are very great – many young cats need emergency c-sections to deliver their kittens, and that’s both dangerous and expensive. Or they take one look at their kittens, and decide that motherhood isn’t for them, leaving *you* to be the nursemaid and feed them every two hours round the clock for several weeks. Or they are stillborn.
Extremely rare? I don’t think so …
