Arcata is a very free and open place. The 60’s are very much alive there. Their farmer’s market on Saturday is developing quite nicely, and the local music and art scenes are amazing.

Housing is in high demand and at prime prices. Organic foods are abundant and affordable. If you are a vegetarian this is the place for you. If you’re a meat eater, this is also the place for you.

The University is excellent. Their music department is nicely developed and their professors are very nice. A good friend of mine is a chemistry professor there. He moved from NY and loves it.

If you go and visit, stay at the Hotel Arcata. A wonderful old building w/ lots of charm (link #1).
