California vacation time law…?
Can an employer pay some employees vacation time and not others? I asked my employer for vacation time but they told me that because they are a small company they do not have a vacation time policy. But as a matter of fact, they have paid some employees vacation time even previous employees that held my postion. Is this legal?

Read your employee handbook. If paid vacation is not a part of your employment compensation package, there is no legal requirement in California that an employer provide its employees with either paid or unpaid vacation time.
The fact that certain employees get paid vacation has to be a private agreement between your employer and the employee. That is definitely an unfair practice, but unfortunately, it is legal.

Sorry, it’s legal. Even in California. Vacation is a benefit, not a right, and is given at the option of the employer.
Yes, it appears to be legal.
