bar/clubs and hotels in indianapolis?
Okay, i never go to clubs and bars, especially downtown. My wife has been bugging me to take her out on the town dancing, clubbing that sort of thing. So I have a birthday in Nov. so if I am going to do it lets go all out. I am looking for some where to start off slow couple beers at one place, couple shots at the next. Build my courage before we hit the dance clubs(im not a dancer). We are early 20 somethings and would be looking for that sort of crowd. With it being Nov. short walks from here to there would be the best. So what are the best places to go? She (my wife) also mentioned hotels i.e. Hampton Inn, Conrad, Omni, Hilton Gardens, Hyatt. Any suggestions on which would be the best one for location to bars and price? Or any others i didnt mention? Thanks for the help in advance

I would start out at Alcatraz Brewing Co.(Circle Centre
49 W. Maryland St. 317- 488-1230 ) if you want a couple of beers, They have over 100 different kinds, decent food and a laidback atmosphere. Or Jillian’s.(141 S. Meridian St. 317- 822-9300) they have arcade games, it’s always crowded though. Next, I would go to Nicky Blaine’s Martinis and Fine Cigars(20 N. Meridian St. 317-638-5588), they make GREAT martinis or any other drink, GREAT live jazz music(some nights, call and check), beautifully decorated, dim lighting, wonderful place to relax. I used to go in there after Pacers games and would almost always see a Pacer player or two relaxing after the game. If you wanted dinner, I would go to McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant (110 N. Illnois St. 317- 631-9500) for seafood, Buca di Beppo (35 N. Illinois St. 317- 632-2822) for Italian, Buca di Beppo is one of my fav places to eat, very reasonably priced, huge portions and a really cool atmosphere. It’s a good palce to get drinks too. Ruth’s Chris Steak House (49 W. Maryland St. 317- 633-1313) for steak, Kindda pricey, but well worth it, best steakhouse in town along with St. Elmo Steak House (127 S. Illinois St. 317- 635-0636) also pricey, but worth it. Have a Nice Day Cafe (225 S. Meridian St. 317- 635-8824), The Slippery Noodle Inn (372 S. Meridian St. 317- 631-6974) and The Ugly Monkey are all good downtown bars and right next to each other along with several other bars, also there is Crackers Comedy Club. So if you get bored just go next door. I would stay at the Conrad( 50 W Washington Street 317- 713 -5000 ) not sure of price but kindda in the middle of all the places I mentioned. Downtown isn’t that big,so walking won’t really be a problem, just wear a coat. Hope this was helpful!! Good luck and Happy Birthday!!
