what is the best product to use for to seal redwood for a water application?
this is a root from the ancient coastal redwood which is 7′ X 30". i’m going to make it into a fountain

Thompson’s water seal makes a number of products to seal against moisture damage to wood. If there will be constant exposure to standing or pooled water, you make want to line it with something heavier in consistency or even a plastic or rubber liner. Hot mopped tar (like a shower pan) would also fit the job and would be quite durable. It all depends on if there will be water spray or pooled water in constant contact with the wood.
Thompsons is a good one but there are others the second site is a soy product
