How about Fantasyland?
First, there is no snow in the mountains in the summer.
Second, there’s the math problem: Perhaps they don’t teach math where you go to school. Let’s do the math, shall we?
Coming to Socal with no marketable skills, you’ll make minimum wage, which is currently $8 per hour. If you are lucky enough to get 40 hours per week, that’s 320 per week, or $1280 gross per month. And that’s BEFORE taxes. Take home is probably $910.
Now it’s a hard economic fact that you should spend around 1/3 of your salary on rent or mortgage. One third of $910 is about $300, which is what you can afford.
However, the average rent for a studio/bachelor/single apartment is about $1000, and a 1BR is about $1200. In order to afford that, you need to make at least $3000 per month.
Looks like you’re a little short, even with your friend.

sorry but in the summer there is no snow and the mountains aren’t that fun. anyways the beaches are great and so. cal has some great beaches. here’s the thing though. houses or apartments are very expensive in the beach communities. i am assuming you will have a car or you can get a bus pass so then you can live a little more inland. i’m not talking about IE but you might do better in irvine which is about 20 minutes away from costa mesa or huntington. so i suggest irvine because it’s still close to a beach with resonable house prices.
From my experience, I have found out the best two places to ski: If you or your friend is really un-skilled, go to Yosemite and go to Badger Pass. Badger is really small so if you wear something neon or bright, your buddy can find you easily. If you and your friend are skilled, go to Heavenly resort. It is way more challenging, but fun. I’m not too skilled at skiing and I kinda fell alot :), but it was still fun and very big.
I hope you have fun and I hope I helped!
