Should the Adelberto United Methodist Church in Humboldt Park (Chicago, IL) have its tax exempt status revoked
and its leadership arrested for harboring fugitives and aiding and abetting illegal acts? The church is again harboring a Mexican illegal immigrant who was arrested in 2006 and recently ordered to report for deportation.
This is the same church that aided Elvira Arellano.

No, churches have interceded in this manner for centuries. Churches have long been seen as inviolate sanctuaries – the guilt or innocence of the person does not impact on their ability to seek sanctuary.

Yes, and it has also kept me from joining the Methodist church.

Yes I do. I am surprised it was not a catholic church to be honest but if they wish to play in politics then they are no longer a tax exempt body.

yes. they should not be allowed to preach any more. churches should pay taxes like any one else. they are in violation of the immigration laws. call ice and report them. make them hear you, make them do their job even if it’s a church. and in the future call children’s services if there is a bunch of illegals living in one apartment with children. kids are suppose to have their own rooms to sleep in. boys and girls are to have their own rooms.

Well, I don’t agree with mixing politics and church together, on by reason in a democrat. But I can find tons of christian churches that play a big roll in politics, mostly republicans.
So you can’t say on church is extremest without bringing the others too

That’s not going to happen over an immigrant. The Evangelicals and Catholics would raise wholly hell.
Did you know that the Catholic Church has facilities inside the Mexican border that aid illegals coming acrossed our borders?
The church claims humanitarianism, but it is really to replace all the parishioners lost over the sex scandals. Religion is a business, just like anything else.
YES! some say no, but this is a matter of immigration law rather than a political issue. Interceding in political issues is fine… interfering with laws that can be changed is another.
They are harboring fugitives and abetting illegal aliens. Next time, it could be an illegal alien terrorist.
