If I'm a resident of Florida, can I get a summer job in California while I'm on vacation?
I’m 17 years old, my legal residence is Florida, but I’m going to be in California for the month of July, and I want to get a job. Is that okay? Will I have to pay a tax or anything?

Other than being old enough for the job, it should be no problem. You should realize that the state withholding for taxes and local taxes will be based on Calif. (not FL) and the locality of the job. That means you’ll need to file a Calif. return and possibly one for the locality, if they also tax income.
The job market in Calif. will be really tight this summer due to the high unemployment. Best wishes in your job search.
