Any advice for someone going to NY?
I’ll be in NY for a almost 2 days, and I want to see some of the city. The hotel I’m staying at is the Hilton Garden Inn at the JFK Airport, which is a good distance away from attractions and sites. Some people say to just use the Airtran to get down there, b/c it’s cheaper. I would like to take one of those tours if possible. How do I go about booking one? Any suggestions? Also, do you think it’s just better to take the Airtran or a shuttle downtown?

Take a shuttle or taxi from the airport into downtown Manhattan. Depending on what you like, you should be able to get just about anywhere by bus, subway or cab. Don’t carry any cash at all, only a few subway tokens and your credit card(s). Keep them close, not in any back pockets or anything and not in a dangling purse. St Mark’s is fun, the village is fun, the museums, broadway, and times square are fun to see as well.

Depends on the time of day which you use, I would opt for the air train cause of the miserable traffic. Check out http://www.nycvisit.com for tours. I reccomned one of the double decker bus tours you can get on and off. BTW wear very comfortable shoes.
Enjoy

it all depends what u like to see on travel. airtran would be nice if you like to see lots of beautiful things from the distance. in other hand like seeing other people and what they know about N.Y. ask them about the good place.

shuttle downtown is better, u gonna love it there
Take the LIRR into Penn Station….or even better. Get the LIRR into the Atlantic Center, take the subway (4) train, to Wall Street and see the WTC site. Get back on the train(4) and take it to grand central…its worth a look if youve never been there. Take the train again..(S) or shuttle train to times square..not much to do, but worth a sight. Take the q over to 34th street and see the empire state building. Take the q again down to canal street Chinatown and do all of your gift/souvenier shopping there, and DONT pay asking price. Take the q again to atlantic and stop off at Juniors, a good resturaunt, and the best cheesecake in the city. Catch the LIRR back to your hotel. Thats what I’d do….if you really want one of those tour things, simply get to times square and you cant miss the guys with the flyers.
