A great place that most people don’t really think of is Hearst Castle, on the Golden Coast. I’d also check out the missions. San Diego is a very nice town, and is the home of Balboa Park, which has some great museums, live music, and restaurants close by.

I spent 3 weeks in California in 2006. We went to Yosemite national park, drove up to Napa and Sonoma Valley for some wine tasting (great wine by the way), San Francisco, drove down the Pacific Coast Highway, through Carmel, went to Hearst Castle, Santa Barbara, then onto LA for a few days then down to San Diego. Had a great time. There’s so much to see/do in California. Have fun!

Look up miranda gardens!
It is in the redwood groves. beautiful and comfy! Lots to see and do.
Very peaceful.
There are many places in CA you can vacation. Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Long Beach, Catalina Island, and San Diego are worth seeing.
I highly recommend San Francisco, where you can visit Alcatraz, Muir Woods (great scenic nature and hiking trails), The San Francisco Zoo, Cable Car Museum, Golden Gate Park (The S.F. Botanical Gardens is a lovely place to stroll and explore), Chinatown (tour the Fortune Cookie Factory), shop at Pier 39 and The Embarcadero, eat some seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf, ride a cable car, drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, and take a drive down Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world).
