I am going to put in a redwood deck. Can you put potted plants on it without ruining the wood or its color?

If you put pots directly on your deck, it will rot faster where the pots are, due to the constant moisture. If you elevate them, for instance putting them on bricks or on plant stand, your deck should be fine, since the water will be able to drain through the deck, instead of sitting on it.
Only if you use pot saucers that don’t leak—meaning no terra cotta saucers. The water will leave rings on your deck otherwise.
