old growth redwoods are about 2500 years….the sequoias of California are older and bigger

Probably no one knows for sure. They say thousands.

The oldest redwood tree ever recorded is in Humboldt, California: 2,200 years old (see source 1 and 2).
However this is not the oldest tree ever. The oldest tree on record is a bristlecone in Wheeler Park, Nevada that was unfortunately cut down by mistake and determined (by tree rings) to be 4,862 years old. (source #3).
The oldest living tree is a bristlecone called "Methuselah" in the White Mountains of California. Estimated to be 4,789 years old.
