Can i plant a california redwood in Minnesota? or is it only able to survive in Cali?
My favorite tree is the California Redwood and I think it would be flippin’ awesome if I planted one in my yard. Do you think they can survive in winters? Or should I just go back to boring old pine trees?

No.
Plus, why would you bother? It would take so long for it to grow that you would never see anything as special as the trees you see in the protected areas out West.
Good idea though. Talk to someone at Linders or Bachmann’s for some special trees you might like that would survive region 4 or 5 (depending on where you live in MN).

Which type, Semperviron or Gigantea? The Sempervirons grows in the fog belt of Northern California coast and Gigantea grow in scattered groves in the Sierra’s and tolerates much wider climate range. I would think you would have better luck with Gigantea.

Please don’t, I am sure for one it would die. But I am guessing that in some way it would be another invasive species and wind up screwing us all over on more taxes to try and rid it! haha. Remember the redneck from Arkansas that thought it would be a good idea to put asian carp in his catfish pond? So do i! Now we are paying out the butt to try and keep it from spreading…. hahahaha
