Which human activities threaten the continued existence of the coast redwood forest and how?

99.9% of the redwood old growth forests have been harvested on the pacific northwest, the remaining percent is either a.) owned by companies like Pacific Lumber Co. or b) Are protected by National and State policies such as parks.
The biggest threat is non-sustainable logging activities to these beautiful trees and forests. The reason is that some are older than 1000+ years, and you cannot just replace those by planting new ones, the only way is to preserve the ones we still have.
