Can I plant a redwood tree in Texas?
Will it grow? Is the climate too hot? In the DFW area.

You can plant one, but it will probably die.
It might have a chance in coastal e. Texas, but I think it’s still too hot. They like very steady humidity, water, and cool-but-not-cold temps.
Redwoods prefer cool foggy climates. They will grow in slightly warmer and dryer climates, but won’t survive if taken too far from their preferred climate.
I would plant one and see if it does well, what do you have to loose beside a years growing time.
