I am driving from San Francisco to Seattle for the first time. Suggestions on where to camp or what to see?
My husband and I are driving up the Pacific Coast from San Francisco to Seattle. Neither of us have been. We both love camping and I really want to see the redwood trees and the Hoh Rainforest in Oregon. We plan on eating at hole in the wall places and camping/hiking. etc. Also, the husband wants to surf. Any suggestions on any of this would be awesome. Thanks!

Along with the above suggestions, definitely stop at the Cannon Beach area west of Portland. There are awesome rocks out in the ocean (Haystack Rock), and all along that area, there are little places you can get fresh seafood 🙂
Also, it will take you a little out of the way, but if you have the time, stop at Crater Lake National Park, the scenery is amazing.
This is such a beautiful drive! It has been a long time since I have done it—but, you won’t run out of natural attractions!
In California, the Redwood National Forest is beautiful and has great camping (keep an eye out for all the large bright yellow banana slugs). Also, stop in Mendocino for a night and check out some of the wineries.
The Hoh Rainforest in Oregon is so magical. A lot of the beaches around there offer camping. Also, Olympic National Park has some really great hotsprings camping. It is an overnight camping trip….but, so worth it!
Also, check out the two pages below from UpTake that will give you ideas of stuff to do in San Francisco and Seattle.
I hope this helps. Have a fantastic trip!
