Protecting a redwood enclosure. Product and technique?
I just built a redwood enclosure for my pool pump & filter. 1.)Which product do you recomend? I want a clear durable protection.
2.) I saw a name brand product but it said for smoooth surfaces. My fence boards are fairly rough. I don’t want to sand them. What do you think?
3.) I read on the can that you need 4 coats but need to sand between coats. That may be tough with the rough surface.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

I’ve heard Behr is very good with sealants and stains
I’ve tried Thompson, and had to reseal my deck several months after, it looked like I had not put anything on.
Guess it’s just personal opinion.
As always, read manufacturers directions.
Don’t buy Behr, or any of the other type products that Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc. sell. They are designed for low price and ease of use. You’re better off with a high quality product. Your results will be better, and you will need to retreat less frequently. I have enclosed a link to a product made by Benjamin Moore that I have used several times. It really is an excellent product. Hope this helps.
