Does grass grow around redwood trees?
What grows on the ground beneath redwoods? Specifically, does grass grow? Or does some other type of greenery grow? Or does the massive redwood root system keep the ground barren? I’ve become very interested in redwood trees lately, thanks for any answers.

It’s not the roots that keep growth away from the bottom of redwoods as much as the lack of sunlight. A few small plants (ferns, etc) may grow there, but anything much larger will struggle for lack of light and space.
