The Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) is only naturally found in California, U.S.A. The first link below shows the locations of minor groves (marked with X as they are too small) and major groves (marked with irregular shapes that denote the area where they grow). The redwoods are a different genus and species (Sequoia sempervirens), but both trees are in the cypress family. The third link shows where redwood forest are found. There are redwoods found in the same area as giant sequoias, but they are also found along the Pacific coast.
