One foot wide, one foot long, one inch thick…or equal to this if the board is not one foot wide.

Depending on where you are, about ten dollars per board foot. Why don’t you call your local lumber yard? If it isn’t common in your area and has to be ordered, there is usually a minimum order.

144sq" is a board foot.Have you tried calling the lumber yard? Without knowing where you are, who could say? In Saudi Arabia I’m guessing it’s spendier than in Redwood City,California

A board foot is 12x12x1 inches or 144 sq. inches one inch thick. That is for rough lumber. Finished lumber will be slightly less but you will pay for the size before processing. A two by four is not going to measure that much, but you will pay for the original size.
A board foot is a measure of lumber for building purpose. Originally it was the surface area of 1 square foot by 1 inch thick. It is used at lumber mills to measure how much lumber (boards ,planks , etc ) is potentially in a tree log. It is measured on small end of log then referred to a chart to develop the price to pay for the log. – – – After it is sawed up and for sale : A board foot can be a 12 inch board 12 inches long and 1 inch thick. Or it can be a board 6 inches wide and 24 inches long and 1 inch thick. You get the idea.
