can i leave primed siding unpainted through winter?
I just applied new redwood siding to a section of wall and want to paint it ASAP, but since winter is upon us, we have cool temperatures and varying degrees of moisture for the next few months. Since the siding is primed, would it be safe to just leave it until the warmer months?

you can, but not a good idea. primer does a good job of getting wood ready for paint, but not a long term solution. Have you ever seen a car that was primered by a DYI in the fall and by summer it has rust….. same thing but without rust.

your fine as long as you paint in the summer .
Netiher situation is ideal. If you paint now, it will not dry correctly and you will have a ton of work ahead of you stripping the paint off, and then sanding and then repainting. Leave it as is. In the spring, sand it down lightly, and then paint when the conditions are better for drying.
If you really want to put something on it, then put something that comes off easy! Because whatever you put on it, will have to dry fast, if not, it will be one ugly mess.
Good luck
