Plan on moving to Humboldt county, CA. Anyone have any helpful info for me? Jobs, locations, ect?
I am wanting to move up to the Humboldt county area of California, but I wanted to try and get some information from people that actually live there on where to look for jobs and places to live. What are the best areas right now? Any other info would be much appreciated.
Wanting to start my own animal rescue and adoption agency. Thats why.

Why would anyone move there except maybe to start an organic farm since land is cheap. It is cold and windy in winter and economy is depressed. The cities are Eureka and Arcata and there is a State University there. It is near the Oregon border. You would be better off going to Medford Oregon and living there. At least the place is thriving.
You cannot go into a poor area and expect to get animals rescued and adopted. Those are the kind of people you rescue animals FROM ! You have to live in an area where there are those types of services around. It is too rural.

I grew up in a town there called McKinleyville. Best time of my life. Their is a lot of pot, but it doesn’t get all in your face like you would think. As a matter of fact you won’t really see it unless your looking for it. The place is well organized for freedom to do what ever you want.
I live a bit south of there, and I can tell you what the general reputation of Humboldt County is. Pot farming, tons of drugs, a poor area, and where inmates get dropped off after they get out of prison. I may be wrong, but if you ask anyone around here what their impression of Humboldt Co. is, you’ll get "Drugs and criminals."
